3 years ago to the DAY, I was in LA about to meet up with my friends for Annie's wedding weekend.  A relationship was the last thing on my mind.  I walked into that hotel and my world changed forever.  I met my man and he knew instantly (and I think I did too, subconsciously) that this was the real deal.  I still sometimes have to sit back and wonder what I ever did in this life to deserve him.  You can read our full story here: His version and Her version.  I always get sentimental and reminiscent on this day because my life really did do a 180 degree-whirlwind-shift after 1 night of meeting him.  I always tell my sister, your life can change in an unexpected instant. Mine did.

This is an email I sent my mom less than 1 week after I met him.  She was in store for much more than a pancake breakfast :)

Hey!

We are in St. Thomas and will be leaving for the airport in about an hour. This has been the trip of a lifetime!!  Great group to travel with.  Laid back and fun!!  But I can't wait to see you both. I have 2 surprises for you each :)  I'll be home late tonight so don't stay home on my account. DO wake me up when you get home though.  We'll have a big pancake breakfast Saturday morning and catch up.
