Last night I hosted everyone at our house for Logan's birthday dinner. We had the whole Colorado clan plus Logan's best friend Nicholas.
I asked Logan what he wanted for dinner and he was QUITE specific:
Aperitif- beverages and cocktail shrimp
Entree- cream of mushroom soup
Plat- Steak, Mac 'n Cheese bake (the homemade kind, not Kraft ha!), and asparagus to dip in vinaigrette
Dessert- Angel food cake with Nutella-infused whipped cream frosting
Luckily, since I am 8 months pregnant, my MIL and SIL offered to help me in all the preparations considering there were 12 of us! We had such a fun night. Here are a few pictures :)
The "Adult Table" - it was a pretty tight squeeze!
The "Kids Table" with a perfect view of the Veggie Tales DVD - it worked like magic :)
Sisters :)
Dominating the shrimp
Nathalie got to sit with us at the "Adults table"
Birthday cake time
Nathalie was a BIG fan of the birthday cake...
Time for gifts!
A Gig 'Em hoodie! (Thanks to Chris for shipping it so we got it in time!)
Nicholas did our maternity pics and he blew up and framed one of our favorites. SO thoughtful!
The Colorado clan all went in to buy Logan a Senseo coffee maker. He has been drinking instant coffee for awhile since I am not a coffee drinker... so he was thrilled about the upgrade :)
A birthday card from me and Stella :)
Food baby vs. REAL baby (and probably food baby too)
Logan borrowed my hat for "guy time" on the front porch
Don't you love our front porch pub table/ wine barrel :)
Cigars and brandy to finish off the evening.
It was a really fun night! Last year we combined Logan and Caleb's birthdays and I am really happy we had them separate this year. I think they each felt special :)
Looks like a fantastic birthday celebration! Any chance for the Angel food cake with Nutella-infused whipped cream frosting recipe? My husband would love it :)
